Blizzard Shares Mediocre Lore Animation From WoW: Dragonflight

Blizzard is again promoting the new expansion for World of Warcraft with a series of story animations, yet the story of the Dracthyrs from Dragonflight failed to impress many players.

For two months, a lot of information has surfaced about the 9th expansion for World of Warcraft. Some of it is due to beta test users, but the developers themselves also shared many details. Including on the plot, which was introduced by the three chapters of the animated series titled Dragonflight: Legacies, focusing on the history of a new race - the Dracthyrs.

We learn about the history of humanoid dragons, dormant for thousands of years, through Nozdormu, a former Dragon Aspect of Time. It is he who meets the newly awakened Dracthyr commander Emberthal, bringing him up to date with the events of Azeroth's history: from the proto-dragon's battle with Galarkond through the betrayal of Neltharion (better known to players as Deathwing) to the sacrifice of the Dragon Aspects.

However, the series also offers a glimpse into the future of Azeroth, which - to the surprise of no one - is threatened by an ancient evil. To learn about it, Emberthal must lead Nozdormu to a memory that is hidden even from the former Dragon Aspect of time.

Dragonflight Legacies did not delight WoW fans.

Fans of WoW are no strangers to two-dimensional animations introducing the lore new expansions. We could see similar series before the release of every expansion since Warlords of Draenor. Another thing is that the new videos come off - according to some players - worse than the previous ones.

No, players are not only complaining about Dragonflight Legacies. Some fans are thrilled that we could finally see more of Galarkond and Deathwing in human form. Some are also hoping for a more "compact" and meaningful story than what took place in WoW: Shadowlands.

Nevertheless, there is no shortage of Internet users, according to whom the new videos do not impress after the not badly received Warbringers and Harbringers series (especially the former). Some point out the less detailed animation, as well as the "wooden dialogues" (otherwise fitting in this context).

There are also concerns about the plot, and it's not even about the events, but the way they are presented. Especially after the leaks that have been appearing for months, and - according to fans - the somewhat disappointing culmination of Dragonflight Legacies.

WoW: Dragonflight will be released on November 27.
