In Starfield, you can find many pieces of equipment, and one of the categories are helmets. The game has an advanced character creator, where you can determine many aspects of your character's appearance, so some players will certainly not want to cover their face with a helmet.
How to turn off helmet visibility?
If you want to disable helmet visibility, go to your equipment. On the keyboard, you must press the I key. If you are playing on a controller, enter the main menu by pressing the button with three horizontal lines and select Inventory in the bottom right corner. Next, go to the helmet section and choose Hide helmet in breathable area by pressing the default T key or RB on the controller.
The helmet is a very important part of the equipment not only because it offers bonuses to statistics depending on the item, but also because some planets are devoid of air, therefore wearing a helmet is necessary. After enabling the above-mentioned option, your helmet and spacesuit will be hidden during landings on planets with a breathable atmosphere and will be automatically put on when visiting places without oxygen.
