Access is Key is a quest to steal a security access card in Hopetown in the game Starfield. The tutorial on this page explains how to get a guard outfit or disguise and how to obtain the Ryujin Industries faction access card.

Access is Key mission is part of the Ryujin Industries faction quest line. Our walkthrough explains, e.g. how to obtain an optional outfit to complete the mission, how to obtain a security access card by stealing it or using persuasion, and what rewards are available for completing the mission.

Unlocking Ryujin Industries faction quest
- You must first complete A New Narrative quest - this is the previous mission for the Ryujin faction, which we have described on a separate page of our walkthrough.
- This time, Imogen Salzo gives you a mission you will have to complete in Hopetown. During it, you will have to obtain an access card.
Obtaining a suit or security guard uniform
- An optional objective of this mission is to obtain and put on a Suit or a Security Guard Uniform.
- If at the start of the quest you already have the appropriate costume on, the game will mark this objective as completed. Otherwise, visit e.g. trader Aito Suzuki on the ground floor of the Ryujin Industries skyscraper. He sells various suits. You don't have to buy a specific one.
Obtaining a security keycard
Leave the Neon city. On the galaxy map, plan a flight to the Valo system. Land in Hopetown on planet Polvo. You can obtain the card from the Hopetown Security Chief in 2 ways:
- Pickpocketing - stand behind the NPC and take the keycard from his inventory.
- Persuasion - talk to the man, ask for the card and pass the persuasion test.
Whichever version you choose, return with the card to Imogen in the Ryujin skyscraper. You'll get XP, 2 med packs, and 2,500 credits, as well as unlock the next quest, Sowing Discord.
