Into The Unknown is another main quest that will allow you to discover your first unique power. In our guide to Starfield, we explain where the Iota and Zeta artifacts are located and how to get a new power, which is your character's unique ability.

Into The Unknown is a story quest which is initiated while in New Atlantis. On this page we show how and where to find Iota and Zeta artifacts, where Andreja (a possible companion) is encountered, how to find the way to the temple using anomalies, and finally how to collect a new power.

Conversation with Vladimir Sall

1. Start by making a grav jump to Alfa Centauri system and land in The Eye. Make your way inside the station.
2. The person you're looking for, Vladimir Sall, can be found at the end of the middle corridor. Talk to him. From the conversation, you will learn that he has information on artifacts that will help in locating the temple. Once the conversation is concluded, follow the mission marker.

Meeting Andreja and finding the Iota and Zeta artifacts

It is highly probable that you'll encounter Andreja in a derelict mine, which is your destination.

1. After the conversation, Andreja will join you, remaining as a companion for the duration of your stay in the mine.
2. Eliminate the enemies in the mine. Alternatively, you can employ stealth and sneak up to the artifact undetected.
3. Once near the artifact, fire your primary weapon or the cutter to mine the nearby deposit and then interact with the Iota artifact.
4. Continue the search for the second artifact, which will involve a trip to a different planet. Expect opponents again. Follow the quest marker in between fights.
5. After finding the Zeta artifact, once again use your weapon to interact with it.
6. If you are having problems finding the exit, use your scanner and follow the arrows that appear on the ground.

Meeting with The Lodge and Vladimir Sall

1. With both artifacts secured, travel to New Atlantis and enter The Lodge. Place them on the table and listen to what the lodge members have to say.
2. Travel to The Eye and talk to Vladimir Sall again. He wil tell you about anomalies and how to use them to establish the location of the temple.

Locating the temple via anomalies

After the conversation, new objectives will appear. You'll need to travel to Procyon III planet in Procyon system and once there, examine the anomalies to find the way to the temple.

Once on foot, start the scanner. The white circle will help you in deducing the potential location of the temple. The process works like a hot-cold game.

If the circle lines start to move and change colour, it means you're moving in the direction of the temple. The more often this phenomenon appears on your scanner, the closer your character is to the goal.

When you are very close to the temple, a quest marker will appear on your interface. Simply follow it to find the entrance.

Obtaining the power in the Eta temple

1. Once inside, you'll notice that your hero has started drift in the air. Your task now is to activate a ring mechanism located in the center of the hall.
2. To do this, you need to follow the spinning lights which change location from time to time. Once you catch them a few times, the ring mechanism will start to spin very fast.

1. At a certain point, the mechanism will create something like a portal. Fly into it, and the power will be awarded to you.

Conclusion of the mission

After gaining the new power, you need to once again meet with The Lodge in New Atlantis. During the meeting, equip the new power (it is called Anti-Gravity Field) and use it on Vladimir. Continue with the conversation and with its conclusion, the quest is complete. You'll be rewarded with XP, 14,000 credits, and 3 med packs.
