When traveling around the worlds of Starfield, you will often encounter dangers like pirates, local creatures, or other enemies. Healing yourself is just as important as shooting the enemy. You can restore health using various items, but med packs are the most common.
Using med packs
These items do not restore the health bar immediately, but gradually fill it up over time. You don't have to open the inventory every time you want to use them, as they are assigned to the quick access menu from the start. All you have to do is press Q on the keyboard or one of the arrows on the d-pad and choose the item. Then the game will slow down significantly, so you will be able to focus on choosing the right item without hurry.
Med packs, like many other healing and stat-boosting items, can also be assigned to other slots on the quick access bar. To do this, open the inventory, select the item you are interested in, and press the B key or Y button on the controller to add it to your favorites in one of the available slots.
