Dungeons 4

Dungeons 4 is the fourth installment of the series launched in 2011. As in the case of previous installments in the series, this is an RTS that takes its inspiration from the legacy of the cult Dungeon Keeper. It was developed by the Realmforge Studios team responsible for the development of the brand, while its release was handled by Kalypso Media.

Plot

The action of Dungeons 4 takes place in a fantastic land, after the events presented in the previous part of the series. We once again play the role of the Absolute Evil - the ruler of darkness, who, having the trusted elfess Thalya by his side, fights for power with the whole world. His actions do not escape the attention of the inhabitants of the surface, who try to thwart his plans. To make matters worse, this time the specter of danger from the underworld hangs over him and his army, where dwarves who crave gold and jewels have spread....

Game mechanics

In Dungeons 4 we observe the action from a top-down view. Gameplay is based on two pillars. The first is the construction of dungeons, which are home to our subordinates and also their base of operations. The dungeons must not only be vast and comfortable, but also properly secured. This is because the heart of the dungeon is a greedy morsel for both humans and dwarves, who often organize expeditions to it.

The second pillar of the game are skirmishes fought on the surface, to which we send troops recruited in the underground. The core of our army consists of undead, demons and the horde; the importance of glutes has also been increased. During dynamic clashes we also make use of Thalya's various abilities. In addition to ranked enemy units, we meet bosses (like the unicorn) on the battlefield. Winning successive victories, we accumulate evil, which we use to gradually transform the green forests and glades into an awe-inspiring empire.

The developers have made an effort to make everything here bigger than before. The world on the surface and the underworld are much more extensive than in Dungeons 3, we send gigantic armies made up of a variety of units into battle, and the range of options for ruling the dark creatures and punishing them for offenses is wider than before, too.

Game modes

The mainstay of Dungeons 4 gameplay is the story campaign, in which a narrator familiar from earlier parts of the series tells us about the subsequent events. In addition, there are single scenarios waiting to be tested. At the same time, the described title allows both single-player and cooperative gameplay.

Technical aspects

Dungeons 4 features good graphics, which id made in a colorful, cartoonish style.
