The penultimate mission of Ryujin Industries faction questline in Starfield is Sabotage, during which you'll attempt to get inside the skyscraper of the competing Infinity LTD corporation and do some mischief. Our walkthrough shows how to infiltrate the building (two variants), how to use mind control (Manipulate) on enemies, how to hack the target computers and how to steal the neuroamplifier prototype from Infinity LTD headquarters.

Meeting in the conference room

There is a possbility that Ularu Chen had died in the previous quest - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. With the conclusion of the previous Ryujin quest (The Key Ingredient), Veena is able to finish her prototype device - you'll have a chance of testing it in the further part of this mission. Travel to Executive Level to talk to Dalton. He will confirm Imogene's innocence and Ularu's guilt based on the evidence from the slate.
  2. Go to the conference room and sit on the marked chair. The recommended course during this conversation is lying about Imogene's actions so you can outsmart Ularu later. You'll also be assigned to test out Ryujin's Neuroamplifier prototype.

There is a possbility that Ularu Chen had died in the previous quest. In such a situation, the conversations will only concern the prototype.

Meeting Veena in the neuroamplifier department

After the surgery, your hero will have all his clothing/equipped items taken off - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. Use the elevator to reach Research and Development floor. Veena is in the operating room and all dialogue options translate to agreeing to participate in the procedure.
  2. Interact with the chair and the neuroamplifier will be installed.

After the surgery, your hero will have all his clothing/equipped items taken off. Open the inventory and equip all your items, both in outfit and spacesuit tabs.

Using the amplifier on DeMarcus

1 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. With the installed amplifier, you unlock the Manipulation skill, which is a form of mind control. It is used during this quest and the game will introduce you to how it works.
  2. The quest marker leads to the observation room, from which you need to control Demarcus remotely.
  3. Equip your Hand Scanner and turn towards Demarcus. The Manipulation option will appear on the screen along with precentage of success. In further attempts to Manipulate, we recommend saving your game beforehand.
2 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
3 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. After assuming control of DeMarcus, you can steer him to a limited extent while still having the Hand Scanner turned on.
  2. Turn to the access card (screenshot 1) - an interaction should be possible - issue a command to DeMarcus to take it.
  3. Now turn towards the entrance (screenshot 2). With the next interaction, you'll order DeMarcus to open the door using the access card.

Final conversations before embarking to Infinity LTD building

4 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. The neuroamplifier test was successful. Talk to Veena and DeMarcus - choice of dialogue options doesn't affect anything.
  2. Travel to Masako's office and listen to her plan involving breaking into Infinity LTD headquarters. She will reveal two possible variants of infiltration, but you don't have to make this decision right now. Additionally, you'll receive Overseer program, ID card, access code, and special Operative equipment (outfit and headwear). Operative outfit makes it 25% harder for other characters to detect the hero.
  3. Also meet with Dalton. If Ularu Chen is still alive, you can give her Overseer program to Dalton and receive the slate with the modified program.

Infiltrating Infinity LTD - variant A: entrance through the roof

5 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. You must travel to New Atlantis and infiltrate Infinity LTD building. There are two ways of entering the building. We recommend saving your progress now so you can attempt the second option if the first one doesn't cut it.
  2. One of the markers leads to a side entrance to the building. Use the ramp to reach the roof of the building. Once there, you can open the roof door (screenshot) using the obtained access code.

Infiltrating Infinity LTD - variant B: entrance through the reception area

6 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. The second variant involves an undercover operation. You need to go to the reception area and talk to Dezi Zhang . Introduce yourself same as it says on the ID card - as Skyler Lumin. This will unlock the elevator and you can take it to travel to Marketing floor.
  2. On the new floor, talk to Aelys Ortiz and sit on the sofa. You have to wait with the action until Aelys leaves. You can now start sneaking through the building - you can use the elevator again or reach the staircase.

Sabotaging the heating system

7 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. Sabotaging the heating system is optional, but it will get rid of many people from the building. Only guards will remain.
  2. The sabotage is done not far from the roof entrance. If you've chosen variant A, you'll reach the location in question instantly. If you've gone with variant B, use the elevator to reach the floor with roof access.
  3. You'll encounter a large working fan. This is also a perfect opportunity to test Manipulation on an enemy - activate your Hand Scanner, target the guard, and choose manipulation. With the manipulation active, look towards the switch on the wall. Order the guard to use it - the fan will be turned off and you can jump down.
8 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. On the lower level, you'll reach a computer (screenshot). Interact with it and choose Critical Systems, Heating, Activate System.
  2. This will initiate an evacuation - employees will leave the building, but turrets and guards will remain.
  3. From this point on, you also have to watch out for poisonous fumes - equip a helmet with increased environmental resistance or find pathways above the fumes.

Exploring Infinity LTD building

9 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. Finding your way around Infinity LTD building resembles the stealth sections in Background Checks mission. Staying undetected is recommended, albeit not mandatory. You can increase your chances of staying undetected with the outfit received before the mission, high Sneak skill, or camouflage.
  2. If detected, expect combat against guards and turrets, and some of the enemies may be of high levels. Killing guards will result in a scolding from Masako at the end of the mission, but there is no possibility of failing the quest.
  3. Look for overhead passages and metal beams near the ceiling. Thanks to them, you can avoid enemies and poisonous fumes. You can also locate a terminal controlling the turrets on the R&D floor (screenshot) - this will enable you to turn them off or reprogram so they attack guards.

Uploading Overseer on Lucas's computer

10 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. The door to Lucas's office is locked but protected by a low-level lock which is opened easily with a digipick.
  2. You also have to hack Lucas's computer, but it is also easy to hack. Choose the upper tile, which is uploading Overseer.

Accessing Research and Development

11 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. The remaining objectives are found on the Research & Development floor, but you cannot access it directly via the elevator, as you don't have the necessary credentials.
  2. Look for ventilation shafts and use them to reach lower floors. Along the way, you'll also encounter a square hatch. The mission marker will lead you to a elevator shaft and a ventilation grate (screenshot). You now have reached the needed floor.

Uploading Overseer on Faye's computer

12 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. 2 new objectives will be activated, and you can complete them in any order.
  2. The approach with Faye's computer is the same as with the previous computer, and you don't even have to hack it. Simply select Overseer from the computer menu.

Stealing the neuroamplifier prototype

13 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. The prototype is in a locked room and to pass through any entrance to it, you need to have an ID card. What you need is in Faye's office - the same where you've completed the previous mission objective.
14 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. There is no point in rushing the whole approach to access the prototype, as it is in a showcase connected to an alarm, and opening it without preparations will bring the nearby opponents on you.
  2. Instead, follow the long cable that leads to one of the computers. Hacking into it (requires developed Security skill) will turn off the alarm. Take the prototype.

Delivering the evidence to David Barron

15 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. After all mission objectives are complete, you can leave Infinity LTD building. Just get to the elevator and ride to the reception area - you'll find yourself back in New Atlantis.
  2. Near the Infinity LTD building, there is SSNN headquarters. Find David Barron there. Give him the slate with evidence depicting illegal actions of Infinity LTD.

Reporting to Masako

16 - Starfield: Sabotage - walkthrough - Faction - Ryujin Industries - Starfield Guide
  1. All that's left is to return to the Ryujin skyscraper in Neon City. At the Executive level, meet with Masako . She may be furious at the hero if the infiltration has turned into bloodshed, but this will not affect your chances of successfully completing the mission.
  2. After the television report, complete the conversation. You will learn of a scheduled vote in the conference room and this will take place during the final mission for this faction - Executive Level. Your rewards will be XP, 6,000 credits, 2 medpacks , and Hippolyta consumable. Unfortunately, you'll no longer be able to use the neuroamplifier.
