Tancred, Master of Castigations in a nutshell
- Tancred has an Umbral parasite on his back which destroying will make applying Stagger much faster. With the parasite destroyed, winning the encounter will be much easier.
- Tancred, Master of Castigations uses Radiant magic in many of his attacks. As a result, we recommend equipping armor that protects from this type of damage.
- Using side dodges should be enough to mitigate most of his attacks. Addtionally, we recommend constant circling and attacking the boss from behind.
How to fight Tancred, Master of Castigations?
After the battle begins, the boss will slowly walk towards you. This is a good moment to fire at him with a ranged weapon. Once he is close enough, start dodging his attacks with dodges to the right side.
When the boss raises his shield, be ready for a shockwave. When it happens, don't stand directly in front of the opponent, as otherwise you'll receive a lot of damage and have Stagger applied. Instead of trying to avoid the shockwave, circle the enemy and attack from behind.
When it comes to this sword attacks, you can mitigate them by performing a side dodge at a right moment. Most of the time, he attacks 2 times, so return with your own attacks only after avoiding all attacks of the boss.
When the boss raises his glowing sword high up, it means that in a moment he will summon a few magic projectiles. They home towards your hero. To avoid them successfully, either sprint in any direction or perform a standard dodge. Remember however that the boss is still at large when you try to avoid the missiles, so a good idea would be to distance yourself from him.
Moreover, after the missiles, Tancred may use a dangerous attack. When his shield starts glowing even more and he raises it up, a huge Radiant shockwave will be unleashed that gains in size as it flies toward you. Once it is close, perform a forward dodge to avoid being struck.
One of the most dangerous boss's attacks is a stab. When you notice that the boss is standing idle for a moment and prepares for a thrust, perform a side dodge. Otherwise you'll be damaged and grabbed which means receiving a lot of damage.
How to fight Reinhold The Immured?
Even though the second boss is much more aggressive with his attacks than the first one, we recommend staying in the melee range. His attacks are very fast, but most of them will not hit if you stay close to the boss's legs.
Staying in close range is the only viable way, as if you keep your distance, he will constantly lunge or charge towards you. Later in the battle, after each lunge, he will create a patch of lava on the ground which makes attacking him unpunished almost impossible.
When in melee range, target one of the legs to apply Stagger to it. The boss will sometimes stand on his hind legs and attempt to crush you with his body. In such situations, we recommend getting away and then attacking after the crush happens.
Reinhold The Immured can also fire fiery projectiles or attack with a flamethrower. In case of fiery projectiles, make a dodge right when the projectile touches the floor. Otherwise you'll be struck by the projectiles.
As for the flamethrower attack, quickly circle the opponent when it launches and attack the boss from behind. This way, the attack won't reach you, and you'll have plenty of time to go on offense and deprive the boss of his health.
