The theme of eavesdropping on conversations overheard by enemies has been present in the Assassin's Creed series for many years. This mechanic is most often used as a method to obtain some valuable information related to the ongoing plot. As one of the elements of the "return to the roots of the series" in AC Mirage, we will once again encounter situations in which Basim will be forced to strain his ears.
On this page of the guide, we will show you how to recognize a potentially interesting conversation, as well as how to hide to remain unnoticed.
How to recognize conversations that may be worth eavesdropping on?
To make sure you've found an important conversation worth eavesdropping on, you can use Eagle Vision. In this special mode, characters exchanging important information will be highlighted with an orange aura. As you approach, the interlocutors will also be marked with an orange sound wave icon.
Enkidu, Basim's bird, will be also essential to locating key characters, enabling you to take a close look at the area from great heights.
Many story missions will require you to overhear a specific dialogue. In these situations, additional information about the objectives will provide mission clues.
How to effectively eavesdrop?
Once you have located the character you want to eavesdrop, sneak up close to them. By activating Eagle Vision, you will notice a circle drawn on the ground. Outside its boundaries, you won't be able to hear dialogue, so the key is to find a hiding place within the circle.
For the game to enable you to eavesdrop on a conversation, you must become invisible to the talking characters. A good option would be to hide behind a small wall or the edge of a building, crouch in tall shrubs, or even blend into the crowd by sitting down on a bench.
When the game decides that your hiding place is good enough, a bubble with the appropriate button will appear above the targets' heads. After pressing it, Basim will focus on the conversation. Patiently listen to the entire dialogue. After its conclusion, Basim will most likely comment on the information he heard, and the investigation log will be updated with new facts.
