While working for Ryujin Industries in Starfield, you'll need to complete some smaller assignments, the first one being One Step Ahead. Our walkthrough explains how to sneak through CeltCorp HQ, how to hack the computer and upload the spyware program you got from Imogen Salzo.
Unlocking the assignment from Ryujin Industries
- First, you must join Ryujin Industries - this is done as part of the Grunt Work quest, described on the previous page of the guide.
- Imogen Salzo will give you your first assignment as a junior employee. You'll receive the Unmarked Data Slate.
Before you start the quest, we recommend unlocking the Sneak and Security skills. The former will let you know when you're hidden, while the latter will make breaking in easier. They'll also come in handy during subsequent Ryujin quests.
Uploading the program to CeltCorp
- Return to the main part of Neon and reach the marked elevator that will take you to CeltCorp HQ.
- Skip the lobby and go straight to the blue marker (no one will stop you). You must hack one of the computers in the office space. Crouch down and make sure you're hidden. Then, use the digipick to hack the computer - fortunately, it's a lowest level lock.
- From the computer menu, choose to upload the program. This should immediately update the mission objective.
- Now return to the Ryujin HQ and report to Imogen. Youu'll receive XP, 1,000 credits, 2 digipicks and the Hippolyta consumable. You'll also unlock another assignment - A New Narrative.
