Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight is a mandatory story boss whose fight consists of 2 phases. With the death of Harrower Dervla, a new boss will appear and you have to fight him seamlessly and without resting - The Unbroken Promise. Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight in a nutshell
- Arrows fired by her deal Wither damage. Applied Wither drains your health slowly, but if you deal damage to the enemy, it can be replenished.
- From time to time, a parasite appears in the arena and can be Siphoned. With the parasite removed, the area near it will allow you to replenish your grey, deteriorating health.
- When you get close to Dervla, she will start preparing for a crossbow shot and make a backward lunge firing a few projectiles in the air.
- Equipping armor that offers protection from Wither damage is recommended.
How to fight Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight?
During the initial seconds of the fight, the boss will take his time preparing, so if you have an offensive spell or a ranged weapon equipped, attack Dervla.
Her main attacks are visibly telegraphed weapon swings. Dodge them at a right moment to circle her, then counterattack.
If you're too far away, Dervla will start firing at you with her crossbow. This may be a slower or a faster burst. In the first case, dodge once, in the second, dodge twice.
When you get close to the boss as she fires the crossbow, she will lunge backwards and fire a few arrows. Each of them deal damage to you and apply Wither - when left with gray health bar, try to successfully attack the enemy.
Once Dervla health drops to around 70%, she will gain a buff. From now on, all her attacks deal Wither damage. Swings with the sword may create a shockwave that flies in a straight line directed at your hero.
A whirlwind may appear on the central arena from time to time. Touching applies Wither, which means grey deteriorating health bar. Avoid the whirlwind by moving to a side and fight Dervla there.
When the boss's health falls down to a dangerous level, she will retreat and start absorbing souls. This restores her health, so you must interrupt this defensive move as fast as possible. Unfortunately, there are additional explosions created in her vicinity when she does that, so use Soulflay to interrupt her.
How to fight The Unbroken Promise?
After defeating Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight, a new boss - The Unbroken Promise - will appear in the arena. This boss fights in a similar manner as Dervla, but instead of ranged attacks, she preferes melee combat.
When Unbroken Promise's health drops below 80%, it will explode and create a few nails that are connected to the boss. The boss has new attacks from now on.
One of them is firing the levitating nails. They will start whirling around the boss in a fast manner. You must be careful not to get hit by them. Wait until they stop spinning and then attack.
The Unbroken Promise can also shoot nails at the player's character and periodically attack with them by driving them into the ground. They deal a lot of damage when touched, so pay attention to what is going on above your head.
Try to circle her and attack with combinations. Her weapon swings hurt plenty, but aren't well targeted, so you can easily dodge them and return with attacks of your own.

For defeating Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight and The Unbroken Promise bosses, you'll receive following rewards:
