General information about the ending

1. The Umbral ending is one of the three endings of Lords of the Fallen. The other two are the Adyr ending and the Radiance ending - we discussed them on separate pages of this chapter of the guide. This ending is the most difficult one to unlock.
2. Watching the Umbral Ending is rewarded with the silver trophy called Back to the Void. Other endings have their own separate achievements.
3. The desire to watch Umbral Ending may block access to the other endings. The point of no return is obtaining and giving away the Rune of Adyr. If you play on PC, try to create backup your saves regularly. If you play on console, consider turning off cloud save synchronization. This will enable you to reload previous state after viewing Umbral Ending, without having to replay the entire game.
4. Try to purchase all unique items from characters that need to be killed in order to see Umbral Ending. After their death, the items will not be transferred to the offer of any other vendor in the game world.

All steps required for Umbral Ending

The list of requirements for Umbral Ending is long and you must not skip any of these steps:

1. Reach the Revelation Depths location in the main story. You must defeat the bosses Harrower Dervla and Unbroken Promise.
2. Return to Skyrest, reach Molhu in Umbral, and purchase the Scouring Slump for 1,000 Vigor. Return to Revelation Depths with this quest item and use it at the well to travel to Mother's Lull for the first time.
3. Meet with Remnant in Mother's Lull to collect the quest item Damarose's Seedpod.
4. Go to Pilgrim's Perch and use Damarose's Seedpod to kill Damarose the Marked.
5. Damarose's death will cause the first platform to appear in Mother's Lull. Go there and get the quest item Gerlinde's Seedpod.
6. Make sure you have already freed Gerlinde. As a reminder, you had to purchase Pilgrim's Perch Key from Stomund and use it in the Pilgrim's Perch Bellroom.
7. Return to Skyrest and use Gerlinde's Seedpod to kill Gerlinde (note - you will lose the ability to use the blacksmith's services!). A second platform will appear in Mother's Lull.
8. Advance in the main story to reach Bramis Castle. Defeat The Lightreaper, who will drop the quest item Lightreaper's Umbral Parasite. Use this item on the pillar in Skyrest.
9. Go to Mother's Lull and obtain another quest item from Remnant - Melchior's Seedpod.
10. Go to Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters to obtain the Rune of Adyr.
11. Meet Remnant in Mother's Lull and you will receive the quest item Withered Rune of Adyr. NOTE - This action blocks access to the other two endings!
12. Return to Bramis Castle and defeat the boss called Sundered Monarch. Find the Effigy of Adyr in the throne room for viewing and the corpse of Melchior. Examining the corpse and using Melchior's Seedpod on it will cause a third new platform to appear in Mother's Lull.
13. Head to Fief of the Chill Curse in Umbral. Use the Withered Rune of Adyr to kill The Iron Wayfarer.
14. Obtain the quest item Harkyn's Umbral Parasite and take it to Skyrest to place it in the pillar.
15. Talk to Molhu and Pieta in Skyrest.
16. You must defeat the boss Elianne the Starved and she will drop the quest item Elianne's Umbral Parasite. Place it in a pillar at Skyrest.
17. Talk to Molhu again and a fourth new platform will appear in Mother's Lull.
18. Return to Mother's Lull and use all 4 platforms you created to get past the large chasm. You will reach the place where you can see Umbral Ending.
