The Hushed Saint boss employs a number of unique techniques, such as teleportation or burrowing underground. Moreover, he can summon his mount and fight on horseback. This unusual set of abilities makes him very dangerous, so on this page of our Lords of the Fallen guide, we offer a breakdown of the encounter, and provide a list of rewards obtained after winning the battle.
How to fight The Hushed Saint in phase 1?
The battle with The Hushed Saint always begins with him on horseback. While on his mount, he is invulnerable to damage, so during this time, focus mainly on dodging and avoiding damage. Go on the offensive only when you see him back on foot.
When dismounting, The Hushed Saint will jump into the air and throw his weapon at you. As the spear approaches, you can:
- dodge forward,
- run up to the boss,
- attack him.
The Hushed Saint basic attack is 2 shield strikes, followed by a spear attack. At all times, try to circle him and attack him from behind. This way, most of the boss's offensive moves won't hit you, and you'll be able to take the initiative.
Remember that you can use Soulflay to immobilize him for a little while. These few seconds when the ability is active will give you the opportunity to attack him without punishment.
If The Hushed Saint stays idle for a while and will hide his weapon behind him, it means that he is preparing for a charge. The charge is fired in a straight line, so all you have to do is to dodge at a right moment and counter.
The boss can also burrow underground and jump out after some time. Watch the ground! If there are mounds on the ground, it means this where The Hushed Saint is. To prevent this attack, you can additionally destroy the parasites visible in Umbral. However, we don't recommend this, as there are a lot of them in different areas of the arena and you won't be able to remove all of them.
Every now and then, The Hushed Saint will summon his mount - when he is on horseback, focus on defense. Take extra care to avoid his attacks. These are usually a spear attack or a ranged throw.
How to fight The Hushed Saint in phase 2?
Once the boss is brought to 60% of his health bar, he will infuse his weapon with the power of roots. His attacks will gain range and deal more damage.
The most dangerous of them is a wave of roots which speed increases as it flies farther. When faced with the wave, try to jump over it or preform a dodge to mitigate the damage received. Being close to the boss when he launches this attack is good, as you have a good opportunity to attack him then.
Moreover, the boss can follow this up with summoning his mount. This time, he won't ride the mount, but order it to charge at you. You'll recognize that this attack is coming easily, as before it, the boss hits his armor with his shield. When you avoid the mount's charge, most of the time he will launch another wave or throw his spear, so be ready for this.
