In Starfield, there is a side mission available in The Well called Tapping the Grid in which you investigate problems with the power supply. Our walkthrough shows how to initiate the quest by talking to Louise Reyez, how to open and turn off junction boxes, and how to solve the puzzle involving 4 panels and 4 green lights.
Unlocking the quest (New Atlantis/The Well)
- To begin this quest, you need to talk to Louise Reyez. You can find her in The Well - one of the districts of New Atlantis (accessible through an elevator).
- The woman will ask for your help regarding the investigation on suspicious power drops in The Well area.
Finding junction boxes
- Remember to set the quest as active. This will make the quest that easier, as blue markers will lead you to junction boxes you need to investigate.
- The first box is found near UC Surplus shop in The Well. Open the panel (this is only possible with the quest on) and turn off the box.
- Same course of action applies to further boxes. They may be found on different floors - reach them via a jetpack or use staircases. You can also activate the hand scanner to have arrows on the ground lead you to the objectives.
Puzzle with 4 junction boxes
- Eventually you will reach a room with 4 boxes . Interact with them so finally 4 green lights are turned on behind the glass wall. The example of a correct order to solve the puzzle is third box, second box, fourth box, third box.
- Once everything is done, return to Louise Reyes. With the conclusion of the quest, you'll receive a new one - Alternating Currents. Additionally, you'll be rewarded with XP and 2000 Credits.
