The following page describes the method of harvesting and obtaining straw from certain grains in Farming Simulator 22. You will also find out if you can sell it and if you can make bales out of it.
How to get straw?
Straw can only be obtained from certain grains - wheat, barley, and oats (sorghum does not produce straw). To collect it, you must set the straw ejection option in the harvester instead of cutting it and spreading it across the field - Straw Swatch).
Such a straw lying in the field can be collected with a forage wagon or turned into bales. However, when you decide to do some work in the field like cultivation or plowing, the straw will disappear. You can't order your employees to collect straw.
It is not possible to connect a forage wagon to a harvester!
What is straw used for?
Use of straw:
- Straw can be used to provide padding for cows and pigs. Only then will the animals produce manure.
- An ingredient for total mixed ration for cows,
- You can also sell the excess. It's not a lot of money, but when you accumulate a lot of it over time, you can get good cash.
Remember that straw is produced in large quantities - you do not have to get it from every crop. However, this is a good option, because you can sell straw (for a small amount of money, but every penny counts at the beginning).
