How to unlock camouflage in Starfield?
It should be mentioned now that camouflage is not a skill that you obtain through the skill tree. Instead, camouflage is a trait that can be found on certain equipment items. When you see "chameleon" in the item description, it means that when staying idle, you're invisible to enemies. Usually, you have to remain still.

The ability to be invisible when idle may be very useful, especially in critical situations when there are a lot of enemies searching the area to find you. With this trait, you can safely wait out the danger or heal yourself without worrying about enemy fire. Remember - for the "chameleon" invisibility from an item to kick in, you need to meet certain conditions that are found in the description of the item.
How to get camouflage in Starfield?
To be able to blend with your surroundings and stay invisible when idle, you need to buy an item with "chameleon" trait, be it from a merchant, and then equip it. You may also get lucky and instead of having to buy such an item, you can find it as loot from a defeated opponent.
