Where to start the quest?: During a conversation with Sahin the Ambassador in The Great Departure main story mission.
Go to the specified location, and you will meet an alchemist who tries to sell his potion "a cure for everything" to the crowd. Talk to the man and ask him everything about his new drug. He will cut off the conversation pretty fast. You will have to approach this matter in a different way.
Go to the right of the stall, walk through the metal door and pick up the letter from the chest. Defeat a few thugs and take the Charlatan's antidote. Go back to the man and make him drink his potion. Then, he'll run away. Follow him to the tavern and run upstairs to find the alchemist in the room.
Talk to him, and he'll tell you all about his experiments. You have two choices now:
- Arrest the man - you will quickly complete the task and the Alchemist goes straight to jail. You'll gain a reputation with the Bridge Alliance.
- Help him escape from the city - if you decide to help him, you'll have to deal with the crowds standing and drinking near the tavern. You can try to discuss with them, use your intuition, or tell them to leave. If you try to make an agreement, you will have to get 6 health potions for them (buy them from a merchant or a trader). If you don't have any potions and you've talked to them several times, the fight will take place. Additionally, and you will lose 1 reputation point with Congregation of Merchant. After dealing with the crowd, go to alchemist and he'll give you 80 pieces of gold.
Return to the Ambassador and report that the Alchemist has been dealt with and you will receive a reputation point with the Bridge Alliance. If you helped the man to escape, it's worth lying about it so as not to lose your reputation. For completing the task you will receive 1000 XP.
