The notoriety mechanic in AC Mirage are closely related to the player's actions. People living in virtual Baghdad will begin to react differently to your presence as a response to your behavior. The guards dressed in red, alarmed by your rowdy behavior, can also take action over time, which will certainly make your life difficult.

Fortunately, there are ways to change the notoriety indicator. From this page, you will learn about ways to get your name "off the radar" of Baghdad authorities.

How does the Notoriety system work?

Getting the attention of the authorities in Baghdad is not a difficult task. Being caught stealing, entering a forbidden area, or fighting guards will quickly turn whole hosts of suspicious guards against Basim. The mechanic is represented by a red bar that fills in the bottom right corner of the screen.

The authorities' current interest in Basim's activities is described by one of four levels. Each subsequent one will be marked by greater fierceness of the guards and an increased chance of getting exposed when in a crowd of civilians. The levels are:

Level 0 - civilians ignore Basim, and unprovoked guards are not interested in the protagonist's actions;

Level 1 - civilians can recognize and draw the guards' attention to the assassin, the first wanted posters appear;

Level 2 - archers start patrolling the roofs of buildings, more wanted posters appear, guards become more vigilant, and civilians are more willing to report Basim's presence;

Level 3 - elite soldiers start pursuing Basim, the guards are very vigilant, and civilians gathered around the wanted posters are very likely to call the authorities upon seeing the protagonist.

You can often find officials on special platforms near squares and markets, and you can pay the bribe with a special coin - power favor token. You can read more about tokens on this page of our guide.
