In Starfield, you will have several opportunities to get a ship for free.

1. You can get them for completing story missions.
2. You can also get a free ship from other quests, such as faction quests for the Crimson Fleet.
3. It is worth remembering that the ships received for doing quests are not of the highest quality.

Stealing

Another way to get a free ship is to steal one.

1. By damaging the enemy ship, you can get closer to it, kill its crew, and take it over.
2. However, if your Piloting rank is too low compared to the class of the ship, you won't be able to steal it.
3. Remember that in order to modify a stolen ship, you need to re-register it for a small fee.
