Lords of the Fallen: How to jump in the game? Lords of the Fallen - guide, tips

Making a jump in Lords of the Fallen 2023 is not exactly intuitive. From the guide you will learn how to initiate a jump and what falling into the abyss after a collapsed jump can lead to.

Last update: 12 October 2023

While exploring the world of Lords of Fallen, you need to jump to distant ledges and hanging platforms. In our guide, we show you how to perform a jump correctly and what the consequences of a failed jump and falling into the abyss may be.

Initiating a jump

1 - Lords of the Fallen: How to jump in the game? - Exploration - Lords of the Fallen Guide
  1. In Lords of the Fallen you can't jump while standing still. Likewise, jumping is unavailable while moving normally. Pressing the jump button will not lead to any reaction as the same button is normally used to initiate interactions.
  2. You can only jump while running. You need to run (press the left analog stick on the controller) and while sprinting press the jump button (X on the PlayStation gamepad, A on the Xbox gamepad).
  3. Jumping enables you to avoid small gaps and jump to distant platforms (e.g. to hanging platforms, like the one shown in the picture).

Falling into an abyss after a failed jump

Before you start running, make sure that there are no enemies in the area who are targeting your character - Lords of the Fallen: How to jump in the game? - Exploration - Lords of the Fallen Guide

Before you start running, make sure that there are no enemies in the area who are targeting your character. They may land a hit on you, bump into you or stop you in some other way and make it difficult or impossible to perform a correct jump.

It is very important to press the button at the last moment, right after approaching the edge. Jumps in the game are not very far and initiating the jump too quickly may result in the action being unsuccessful.

A failed jump may mean:

  1. Landing on a lower ledge - depending on the height, your character will not take damage or their health bar will be reduced.
  2. Falling into an abyss - this is equivalent to death. If you were in Axiom at the time of jump, you will be reborn in Umbral on a safe ledge. If you were already in Umbral, a death screen will appear, you will lose the XP you have collected and will respawn at the nearest resting place.

Additional tip - you can and should push your opponents into the abyss, and kicks are perfect for this purpose. This will enable you to quickly get rid of an enemy and you will receive XP for eliminating them.
