It is an action RPG, epic in scale, set in the Medieval period, specifically during the Hussite Wars (fought in Europe in the first part of 15th century), and powered by the CryEngine 3. The game was created by a Czech game studio Warhorse, which employs creators of the popular Mafia franchise. You assume the role of a young blacksmith who lost everything to the war. While fulfilling his father’s last will, he gets entangled in a plot to rescue the kidnapped king and prevent a brutal conflict.
Mount & Blade: Warband

The developers responded to community feedback implementing an array of innovations and improvements to enrich the gameplay. First of all, artificial intelligence of commanders and vassals was significantly improved and the diplomacy options were expanded, giving you more control over your lands.
Stronghold Crusader HD

The HD edition increases the maximum resolution supported and adds zooming in and out in the isometric view. This time we travel to the Middle East of the crusades period in the late 11th and the early 12th century. The game mechanics are not much different from what fans of the series know and love. The game's biggest innovation is the setting, albeit it features also some minor gameplay adjustment, such as dealing with limited water supplies.

Stronghold: Crusader Extreme

A refreshed version of Stronghold Crusader, a 2002 strategy game. The new edition was developed by the creators of the original game – Firefly Studios. The game starts when the story of the first Stronghold ended and player is once again moved to the times of the medieval crusades that were supposed to reclaim the holy city of Jerusalem from the hands of the infidels. The player is tasked with creating a powerful army of knights and leading it against the infidels from the East.

Kingdoms introduces mainly four new campaigns.
